Problems signing in?
- Did you buy something in
2007, but the store
software won't accept your e-mail address or password? In January
2008 I moved the site to a new server, with all new software.
The store software doesn't know about your 2007 purchase. If
this is the first time you are buying something in 2008, you
will need to go to this
page to enter your delivery information. You will only
need to do this one time, and then the software will remember
it for all future purchases.
- How to sign in to your
account? To sign in,
go to this page. Type in the same e-mail address
and password that you typed in when you created the account,
and click on "Sign in." On the next page, click on
"My Account" in small white letters near the top of
the screen. On the next page, you will be able to view the orders
you have made, change your account information and password,
and download again any downloadable products you have bought.
- Your e-mail address is
not accepted? Make
sure the e-mail address you are typing at the sign in page is the same address you
created the account with. If it still doesn't work, send me e-mail
by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page (or by clicking
on "Contact Us" on any store page). I will then reply
to your message, to let you know the exact e-mail address associated
with your account. You can then sign in to your account using
that e-mail address and your password.
- Your password doesn't work? If the sign-in page does not accept
the password you type, you might be typing in a slightly different
password than you typed when you created the account. In that
case, click on the link that says, "Password forgotten?
Click here." or just click this. On the page that appears,
type in your e-mail address, then click on "Continue."
The software will send you an e-mail message with your password.
Then try signing in again, using your e-mail address and that
password.
- As a last resort, if you know you have the correct e-mail
address and password for your account, and you still can't sign
in, send me e-mail by clicking on the link at the bottom of this
page (or by clicking on "Contact Us" on any store page),
with your name and a request to reset your password. When I receive
it I will then ask the software to reset your password. The software
won't tell me what your new password is, but it will send an
e-mail message to you with your new password. When you sign in
with that new password, you can then change the password to whatever
you want it to be.
- You want a different password
than you have now?
Sign in using your e-mail address and current password, then
click on "My Account" near the top of the screen, then
click on "Change my account password." Type in your
current and new passwords, then click on "Continue."
Your password will be changed to whatever you typed in.
Downloading products
- How to download a product
you bought. (For the
Upgrade, see below.) When you buy the product, a link to download
it is included on the "Thank You" page right after
you pay for the order. If that page is still showing on your
computer now, scroll to the bottom of that screen and click on
the link to start the download. If that screen is no longer showing,
you will need to click on "My Account" at the top of
any store page, and sign in to your account (if you are not signed
in at the moment). Or sign in at this page. When you are signed in, click
on "My Account" in small white letters at the top of
the page. On the page that shows up, you will see a summary of
your orders. For the order that includes the downloadable product,
click on the "View" button. Another page will appear
which shows the details of the order, and at the bottom of that
page will be the download link. Click on that link to start downloading
the product to your computer. For the e-books Fireworks A-Z
Buyer's Guide and Fireworks Dealers of the USA, you
are allowed to download the product 10 times, and the download
link expires 180 days after you bought the product.
- How to download the upgrade
from the 2007 to 2008
Buyer's Guide. If you bought Fireworks A-Z Buyer's Guide
in 2007 and you are now buying the upgrade to the 2008 edition,
you will download the 2008 edition in a different way than other
downloads. You can't download the upgrade from your account in
the store. Please check your e-mail later today, for a message
from me that will include the downloading instructions for the
upgrade.
Making Payments
- Do I take credit cards? I can accept Visa, Mastercard, American
Express and Discover. Please use the online
store to place your order using your credit card. The
purchase amount will be added to your credit card bill, and the
merchant will be identified as "Fireworksland.com."
- Do I take debit cards? Yes, if your debit card has a Visa,
Mastercard, American Express or Discover logo on the front. Enter
the debit card information exactly as if it was a credit card.
Please use the online
store to place your order using your debit card. The
purchase amount will be deducted immediately from your checking
account, and the merchant will be identified as "Fireworksland.com."
- How will you know if your
credit card or debit card payment was approved? I will send you a confirmation e-mail
of my own (separate from the automatic confirmation that the
software sends you). If your payment was approved, I will simply
state that I will ship your order today. If your payment was
declined, I will let you know that it was declined. The bank
that issued the card does not give me the reason why a payment
was declined, they simply say, "Declined."
- What may cause your payment
to be declined? The
bank that issued the card may have any number of reasons to decline
a payment. The address you type in may not match exactly the
address the bank has on file for that card. They are very picky
these days and the name and address must match exactly. There
could be a hold on your account, for some reason, or the bank
may have frozen the card if they think there was unauthorized
usage of the card (fraud) by someone else. Only the bank that
issued the card can tell you exactly why your payment was declined.
If a payment is declined, you can try again with the same card,
making sure all the information matches what the bank has on
file, or you can try again with a different card, or you can
order by
mail with a check or money order.
- Do I accept e-check or
PayPal payments? At
this time I do not have the capability to accept e-check payments.
Up until 2 years ago, I did accept PayPal payments, but PayPal
defrauded me and stole $72 from me. Since then I have not accepted
PayPal payments at all, and I would recommend that you never
use PayPal for any reason.
- Is the ordering process
secure? Yes. The checkout
is done with a shared SSL certificate at hostgator.com, my web
hosting provider, and the payment gateway is through my account
on the secure server at Authorize.net. Your credit card information
is secure at all times. I never even get the full credit card
number. Only the last 4 digits of it are stored in the transaction
record.
- Is there any way to order
without using a credit card?
Yes, you can order by mail, and send me a check or money order.
To order by mail, use either the HTML
order form or the PDF
order form. If you are outside the United States and
you are ordering by mail, you must send me an International Money
Order.
Shipping Information
- When will I send your order?
In most cases I mail
out the order on the same day I receive it. The only exceptions
are if I am out of town (which is rare) or if there is a problem
with your order (such as insufficient address information, the
shirt size is unclear, or your credit card payment is declined,
etc.) If there any such problem I will contact you by e-mail.
- How will your order be
shipped? I normally
mail the package on the same day I receive your order. Most shipments
go by First Class mail, which takes 1 to 2 days if you are in
California, 2 to 3 days if you are in the midwestern U.S., and
4 to 5 days if you are in the eastern U.S. If the package contains
more than one item and the total weight of the package is 13
ounces or more, the package will go by Proirity Mail, which normally
takes 2 to 3 days for all parts of the U.S. (The weight of a
shirt varies depending on the size, anywhere from 6 to 12 ounces
per shirt. The DVDs weigh about 2.5 ounces.) The Black Cat poster
is always mailed separately from anything else you order, in
its own mailing tube.
- Can you get overnight delivery?
I don't offer this
any more. Too many overnight packages went undelivered, or were
not delivered on time.
- What about COD orders? Sorry, I do not do COD orders. I used
to, but too many came back to me undelivered so I gave up on
that.
- If you are outside the
United States, your
order will go by Air Mail, no matter what you order. The Black
Cat wall poster is always mailed separately from anything else
you order, in its own mailing tube.
- How long do foreign orders
take? If you are outside
the U.S., your order goes by Air Mail, no matter what it is.
Typically this takes about one week to get to you, but it could
be longer, depending on how fast your postal service is.
Returns and Refunds
- Is there a money-back guarantee?
There is on the T-shirts.
Any shirt that you buy from me, you can return to me for a refund
or exchange, for any reason. However, you must return the shirt
to me in a new, unused and unwashed condition. It's OK to try
it on to see if it fits, but if you are going to return it, please
do not wear it or wash it even one time. When I receive it I
will mail you a refund check or a different shirt in exchange
(if the shirt you want is more expensive than the shirt you originally
bought, please include a check for the difference. There is
no refund or exchange on any DVD, e-book or poster. Be certain
that you really want the DVD, e-book or poster before you buy
it. If a DVD is defective in that it won't play properly, please
send me e-mail
about it and I will work with you to resolve the problem. My
policies about returning items you bought from me are at this page.
- What if the T-shirt doesn't
fit? You can return
any shirt to me for an exchange or a refund. You can exchange
it for a different size, or even a different style if you want.
You must return the shirt to me in brand new condition,
not worn and not washed. It's OK to try it on, of course, to
see if it fits. But if you are going to return it, please do
not wear it and please do not wash it, even one time. When I
receive the shirt from you, I will then mail the replacement
shirt to you or mail a refund check to you, whichever you prefer.
If the shirt you want is more expensive than the shirt you
are returning, please include a check for the difference
in price.
Miscellaneous questions
- Are my books, videos and shirts available in stores?
No, they are only available only by ordering from me. The Black
Cat shirts are available from many dealers, but all the other
shirts, books and videos I sell are exclusive to this web site.
- Can't you just call me
to place an order?
I used to have my phone number on this web site, but I got too
many weird calls. Please use the online
store to order with a credit card. If you have any questions,
send me e-mail (see below).
- If you buy one of my products,
will your name and address go onto a mailing list? I will never, ever give out your name,
address or e-mail address to anybody, for any reason. Period.
Your information will remain a secret between you and me. I do
keep a database of my customers with the information in it, and
3 to 4 times per year I send out an e-mail announcement, to announce
a new product that I have for sale. But my customer database
has remained completely secret for 12 years and I will never
let anyone else see or get your name, address or e-mail address.
So do not worry about that. I know that your privacy is important
to you, and I keep your information strictly confidential.
- What's my phone number?
Can you call me just to talk about fireworks? I used to have my phone number on this
web site, but I was getting too many weird calls from all over
the world, so I had to remove it. Sorry. If you have a question,
send me e-mail and I will be happy to answer it by e-mail.
Your message will only get through
to me if the subject line remains Fireworksland.com. Click
this to send me e-mail. If clicking on that does nothing,
send e-mail to me in your e-mail program, to bobweaver (at)
fireworksland.com (replacing the "at" with an @).
I normally reply to e-mail inquries on the same day I receive
them, unless I am out of town, which is rare. Make sure the subject
line is Fireworksland.com - if not then I might not receive the
