I have looked everywhere and it seems that nobody carries them anymore

My neighbors loved them and they are fun to annoy people with, I wish I could find some. Anybody know if they are still being sold somewhere or if TNT stopped makeing them? Thanks

Yeah I already have a ton of firecrackers, some candles and some really loud bottle rockets. The problem is that my mom doesn't like it when i use a ton of them. I cant wait till im old enough to move to wisconsdin and spend a ton of my money on wholesale.

What kind of retard loads any type of explosive into a metal container and lights it while standing right next to it? Why do they have to make the item illegal? Why not ban the idiots?
You can make a "bomb" out of a metal container using just about anything. Diet coke and freakin mentos will explode under the right circumstances (DO NOT try this at home, it's much more complicated than it sounds).
Now the state of CA wants to ban all whisteling fountains because of that stupid f**k?? That's truly sad. I'm not a big fan of whisteling fountains, but still... wow.. just wow.

Kellners sells a Whistling Pete, which I assume is the same as a Piccalo Pete. Probably just as annoying to the neighbors and their dogs!
Definitely agree that taking apart fireworks to make different devices is not too smart. Among other things it leaves you wide open to persecution by overzealous law enforcement and elected officials. Plus whistle mix can be nasty stuff- just ask the guys at a certain domestic manufacturer- two were killed when something went wrong while pressing whistle tubes...

Bob Weaver wrote:They have been banned in some areas of California, because people were taking the powder out of them and making homemade devices with the powder, like crude firecrackers. For example, one article about it is here:

This is just Bull Crap... The current Petes have a plastic tube with a slit down the length of the tube this insures that there will not be enough of a seal to make them go boom if somebody tried to hammer them or pinch them in a vise, the gases will just blow by. Banning these is overkill.
The way I see it is if you modify 1.4g it turns the firework into 1.3g if these a-holes were playing with 1.3 they should be charged as if they were illegally playing with 12" shells.. Or bombs for that matter and leave the petes alone.
